9/06/25 Injuries once again keep Evan Carter, a former Rangers top prospect, from full bloom. The freshly grown dark brown beard on Evan Carter's face is a reflection of time passed. Carter, 23, will finish a second consecutive year on the injured list after a fractured right wrist ended his season two weeks ago. The Texas Rangers placed Carter on the 10-day injured list Aug. 22 and transferred him to the 60-day injured list Aug. 29. Carter fought his own body last season when a stress reaction in his lower back sidelined him for nearly the entire second half of his first full year in the major leagues.

8/25/25 Former Rangers Manager Ron Washington Had Quadruple Bypass Procedure. As the Texas Rangers get set to face the Los Angeles Angels, they were handed bad news about two of their stars, with both Evan Carter and Marcus Semien likely out for the rest of the season. Coincidentally, both of their injuries also appear to be suffered in the same game, with Semien fouling a ball off his foot that resulted in a fracture of the third metatarsal in his foot and a Lisfranc sprain, while Carter suffered a fractured wrist after getting hit by a pitch. The former Rangers skipper was named the manager of the Angels ahead of the 2024 season.

The wild card-chasing Texas Rangers put struggling slugger Adolis García on the 10-day injured list Wednesday because of a sprained left ankle, and activated outfielder Evan Carter after he missed 10 games because of back spasms. Texas made the moves with both outfielders before their series finale against the Arizona Diamondbacks. Another outfielder, Wyatt Langford, was held out of the lineup because of forearm stiffness, but manager Bruce Bochy said he could be available to pinch-hit.

The Texas Rangers are set to take big steps with two of their injured players in their upcoming series with the Arizona Diamondbacks. Outfielder Evan Carter and pitcher Chris Martin are both set for live action, albeit in a controlled environment. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy outlined the steps for both injured players during his pre-game scrum with local media. Carter has been on the injured list since the last road trip with back spasms, while Martin has been on the injured list since July with a calf strain.

Texas Rangers outfielder Evan Carter and right-handed pitcher Chris Martin will both participate in live bullpen sessions during a three-game series vs. the Arizona Diamondbacks as each works their way back from injury. Carter, who has been sidelined since Aug. 2 with back spasms, will face hitters before Monday's series opener. 8/02/25 Texas Rangers' Evan Carter dealing with back spasms ahead of Saturday's game in Seattle. Evan Carter is dealing with back trouble again. Rangers manager Bruce Bochy said Saturday morning that Carter had back “spasms.” It was very possible he will end up on the IL, given his history of back issues. Bochy said the Rangers had a player en route to Seattle, but no roster move had been made. Carter missed most of last year with what was described as a lumbar sprain. Carter later acknowledged it is a chronic condition.

Evan Carter slid safely home in the top of the 10th inning, lifting the Texas Rangers to a 6-5 victory over the Baltimore Orioles on Tuesday night. Carter was the automatic runner, and he went to third when Seranthony Domínguez (2-2) threw a one-out wild pitch. Sam Haggerty then hit a grounder to second baseman Jackson Holliday.

6/16/25 Texas Rangers infielder Josh Smith earns AL Player of the Week honor. When a player who didn't even lead his own team in any offensive category still ends up as the AL Player of the Week. On Monday, Major League Baseball announced Josh Smith as its AL Player of the Week. Smith, 27, had an amazing week, slashing .423/.500/.769/1.269 with a pair of homers. It was second to teammate Evan Carter who slashed .444/.545/.889/1.269 also with a pair of homers.

Texas Rangers center fielder Evan Carter exited Friday night's game against the Chicago White Sox with right wrist soreness, three innings after making a spectacular diving catch. Carter made the highlight grab to take a hit away from Mike Tauchman leading off in the fourth inning. Carter put his right hand down to the ground as he was lunging forward to make the catch with his gloved left hand.
