This is the fifth time Johnson has been signed to either the Giants practice squad or 53-man roster, making him this year's version of “Ryan Perrilloux,” the quarterback who famously bounced from the waiver wire to the practice squad to the 53-man roster for the Giants from 2011-2012. Fullback/tight end Jakob Johnson is probably starting to feel like a human yo-yo when it comes to his tenure with the New York Giants. Johnson was released from the team's practice squad to make room for the signing of inside linebacker Carter Coughlin, who was dropped from the 53-man roster on Thursday. Johnson, originally signed by the Giants on August 16, did not make the initial 53 man roster when cuts were announced on August 27, but he was one of the vested veterans added to the team's practice squad the next day.
