8/31/25 Dodgers give Alex Call start against Diamondbacks over Teoscar Hernandez. The trade-deadline acquisition from the Nationals has had quality at-bats of late while Hernandez has struggled against right-handers.

8/25/25 MLB rumors: Dodgers beat out Yankees, Phillies in trade for player with longest HR of season. The Los Angeles Dodgers were somewhat quiet at this season's MLB trade deadline, but one of the moves they did make has paid dividends in an intriguing fashion. Los Angeles acquired outfielder Alex Call late last month despite other clubs such as the New York Yankees and Philadelphia Phillies showing interest in a potential deal. While he is not a home-run specialist, the Athletic's Ken Rosenthal highlighted that Call's lone home run with Los Angeles was the team's deepest long ball of the season.

8/20/25 Dodgers notes: Alex Call, Mookie Betts, Teoscar Hernández. The Dodgers weren’t as active at the trade deadline as they had been in years past, and the early results weren’t inspiring to say the least. Brock Stewart’s reunion has lasted just four appearances, suffering a loss to the St. Louis Cardinals on Aug. 4 before being placed on the 15-day IL due to right […]

8/19/25 Dodgers bounce back with 11-run barrage of Rockies. Alex Call finishes a triple short of the cycle, Ohtani homers in 11-4 win over Rockies.

8/15/25 3 prospects Dodgers must promote as rosters expand for 2025 stretch run. Earlier this summer, life was good for the Los Angeles Dodgers. Unfortunately, the dog days of summer have not been too kind to the Dodgers, as they now trail the Padres, have suffered even more injuries in the middle of their order, and didn't accomplish much at the trade deadline, with Alex Call struggling to get much going on offense, and pitcher Brock Stewart already on IL. Are the Dodgers doomed? Because the Dodgers have the best farm system in the business and have a few players who are either in AAA or spent much of the season in OKC who could be factors this fall when the roster expands out, including their third-ranked prospect who has already gotten a few weeks of work at Dodger Stadium.

8/08/25 'Straight grinder.' How new Dodger Alex Call became one of MLB's toughest at-bats. Alex Call, acquired by the Dodgers at the trade deadline, is one of the harder outs in baseball, a testament to hard work put in over years to overhaul his approach at the plate.

8/02/25 Breaking Down Nationals Trading Alex Call in Potential Sneaky Good Move for Dodgers. With the Washington Nationals once again struggling, it was no surprise to see them as sellers at the trade deadline. Despite some higher expectations than in recent seasons coming into the year, the Nationals have once again not been able to improve in the win column. While there are multiple reasons for the struggles of the organization, a lot of that attention has been on the starting rotation and some young players not developing the way the franchise would have hoped. With the team being sellers at the trade deadline, it has freed up a lot of space for some young players to get a chance in full-time roles in the Majors.

7/27/25 In a pinch, River Falls' Alex Call helps sink Twins. When the Nationals needed an outfielder to pinch hit with a runner on second, they sent for Alex Call. It was only the second inning, and he was facing Twins ace Joe Ryan — with an 0-2 count after center fielder Jacob Young was hit in the right index trying to bunt. Call singled in the game's first run, loaded the bases when he reached on an error — all three runners scored — and hit a home run in the seventh as Washington beat the Twins, 9-3, in front of 26,928 on a muggy night at Target Field.

7/25/25 Watch: Nationals OF Alex Call returns to hometown River Falls to help run kids clinic. With the Washington Nationals in town to play a weekend series vs. the Twins, it was an ideal time for outfielder Alex Call to give back to his hometown community. Call hosted a free youth baseball clinic in River Falls, WI on Friday morning. The clinic took place at First National Bank of River Falls field, a perfect setup for the 50 or so 11-13 year old players who participated. Call has played 69-games this year for Washington and has a .270 batting average, with two home runs and 21 runs batted in.

6/07/25 Struggling offenses seek a breakthrough as Rangers, Nationals meet. Despite a string of lackluster offensive performances, the Washington Nationals have a chance to post a series victory over the visiting Texas Rangers on Saturday afternoon. Following Washington's 2-0 win in the series opener on Friday night, the club has only nine runs since the calendar turned to June -- an average of just 1.8 runs per game. The Nationals haven't scored more than three runs since an 11-run outburst on May 31 against the Arizona Diamondbacks, but Washington got six scoreless innings from starter Michael Soroka on Friday before Alex Call launched his first home run of the season in the seventh on Friday for a much-needed insurance run.

6/06/25 Michael Soroka leads combined two-hitter as Nats beat Rangers. June 7 - Michael Soroka threw six scoreless innings and Alex Call homered to propel the Washington Nationals to a 2-0 victory over the visiting Texas Rangers on Friday. Soroka (3-3) allowed just two hits while striking out seven and walking one for the Nationals, who had dropped three of four games prior to the series opener. The Washington bullpen kept Texas hitless for the final three innings. Closer Kyle Finnegan retired the first two Rangers he faced in the ninth before Marcus Semien reached on CJ Abrams' fielding error. Finnegan got Jake Burger to pop out to end the game, securing his 18th save of the season. Patrick Corbin (3-5) -- a former Nationals pitcher -- threw an eight-inning complete

4/30/25 Meet the 12-year-old Phillies fan who went viral for imitating José Alvarado: 'He was in his own little zone'. Troy and Princeton Bailey were at the Phillies-Nationals game on Tuesday night, sitting in Section 118, row 13, when a fan in front of them turned around. It was a few minutes after Phillies reliever José Alvarado escaped a bases-loaded situation in the eighth with a strikeout of pinch-hitter Alex Call. It was not Troy who went viral, but rather his grandson, a 12-year-old student at Kirk Middle School in Newark, Del., who goes by “Prince.”

4/05/25 Lefty Mitchell Parker improves to 2-0 as Nats trim D-backs. Alex Call had two run-scoring singles and left-hander Mitchell Parker pitched six strong innings as the host Washington Nationals broke a four-game losing streak with a 4-3 victory over the Arizona Diamondbacks on Saturday. James Wood had a two-run double in a three-run first inning capped by Call's first RBI single, and Call singled in a run in the fourth for a 4-0 lead off left-hander Eduardo Rodriguez (0-1). The Nationals had lost six of their first seven. The Diamondbacks had won four of their last five.
