The win snapped the Rays losing skid at four games and evened the three-game series at a game apiece. The Rays offense got started in the first inning when Brandon Lowe hit a solo homer. The Rays added two runs in the second, third and fourth to build a 7-1 lead. When the Cardinals answered with a single run in the first and four in the seventh to pull within 7-6, the Rays answered with two in the seventh and one in the eighth to earn the 10-6 win.
