CARSON BENGE I suggested in a comment on Monday that Jett Williams might be more advanced than Tyrone Taylor and his promotion to AA straight to the big leagues ought to be considered. I also suggested that Carson Benge through Sunday was hitting so well after his promotion to AA that the Mets might want to consider promoting him straight from AA to the majors. I have recently suggested that the incredible Jonah Tong could have helped the Mets more than some of David's painful parade of AAAA relievers, too, with Tong going straight from AA to the bigs. Someone taking the contrary view suggested that guys never go straight from AA to the majors. Special guys do, though. With Tyrone Taylor taking the bulk of the starts at the position for now, the Mets have to wonder if there's an upgrade on the market. Jarren Duran, who can play center but usually mans left field for the Boston Red Sox, is one of the most intriguing names out there these days.
